On the afternoon of July 14, the Human Resources Department organized a book-sharing session centered around the book "Growing Amidst Gunfire and Rain," with over 90 participants from the company's executive team and colleagues across various departments.
First, everyone engaged in group discussions, passionately exploring the book’s classic passages and memorable lines while relating them to their own experiences. Participants freely shared their thoughts and opinions, speaking openly and candidly. After an intense round of discussion, each group selected one representative to share their insights. Some colleagues beautifully recited captivating excerpts from the book, while others were deeply moved by the characters’ optimistic and uplifting spirit. Still others were inspired by the text’s powerful message about "a group of young people, driven by their dreams, selflessly dedicating their youthful energy and passion to creating the world’s best product—facing every challenge, no matter how tough, exhausting, or arduous, with unwavering determination."
Among them, everyone was deeply impressed by the protagonist—Chef Xiao Wang—from "The 'Tofu Beauty' Amidst War," with many commenting: "Even in the most ordinary of roles, as long as you put your heart into it and work hard, you can still create a remarkable life right where you are."
At the end of this segment, the host shared the inspiring story of our colleagues Yao Pengcheng and Yang Shengshuai, who braved the challenging conditions of a 5,474-meter-high mountain in Tibet to build a radar station. Everyone in the audience was deeply moved by their unwavering determination and their dedication to treating their work as a true calling. The room erupted into warm applause, expressing heartfelt admiration for their remarkable spirit.
During the "Open Discussion" session, female employees took the lead and eagerly participated. The article "Flower Battlefield," which chronicles the journey of a young woman transitioning from campus to corporate excellence, was mentioned most frequently. Many female employees found themselves reflecting on their own paths of growth as they read the story. Several colleagues shared personal anecdotes about challenges they’ve faced at work—and how they’ve tackled them—while also offering valuable insights and lessons learned. Meanwhile, some coworkers drew connections between the book’s themes and their understanding of the company’s core values, expressing admiration for their colleagues’ spirit of "hard work and perseverance." They also offered thoughtful, balanced analyses of current issues within the organization, pinpointing areas that need improvement while maintaining a constructive and forward-looking perspective.
As the sharing session drew to a close, company executives joined the discussion, praising everyone’s proactive thinking and enthusiastic participation. At the same time, they shared their own insights and reflections, offering words of encouragement to the group—2020 is undoubtedly going to be an extraordinary year.
