In September 2021, amid tight resource constraints and pressing delivery deadlines, Fu Xiaofan took on the critical role of project leader for the company's flagship initiative, "XX Radar." For her, who was new to the radar field, this was not only an opportunity but also an unprecedented challenge.

Facing the design requirements, Fu Xiaofan decided to draw inspiration from the company’s previously delivered radar products, which share similar underlying principles. He also sought guidance from Chief Engineer Mr. Chen, gaining insights into the radar system architecture and microwave hardware design approach. At the same time, he carefully reviewed the functional specification document, the business acceptance guidelines, and the test reports to identify the customer’s new requirements as well as the gaps between the company’s current offerings and those needs. This process prompted him to brainstorm innovative optimization strategies. After thorough research and preparation, the overall R&D approach for the project gradually became clearer.

However, during the development of the "XX Radar" project, the team still encountered numerous challenges—like navigating through a maze: tight staffing in the design phase, an unexpected city-wide lockdown during prototype manufacturing due to the pandemic, a compressed timeline forcing simultaneous production of prototypes and mass production runs, and technical hurdles that emerged during the debugging stage. Despite the daunting road ahead, the project team pressed forward with determination. Led by Fu Xiaofan, everyone tackled each obstacle head-on, ensuring that the project continued to move forward smoothly and efficiently.

After six months of relentless effort and overcoming numerous challenges, the project is about to enter its critical phase: the customer’s first on-site acceptance inspection. Yet, even now, several stubborn issues remain unresolved—issues like transmitter spurious emissions, servo alarms, and dynamic problems with the receiver unit. These anomalies aren’t isolated incidents; instead, they require a systematic, system-wide approach to pinpoint their root causes. In particular, the unpredictable nature of spurious emission reoccurrences makes it especially time-consuming to identify underlying patterns. This process demands meticulous attention to detail and unwavering patience. Given the tight deadlines and limited resources, what’s needed most is a determined resolve to tackle these tough challenges head-on—and an unyielding commitment to persistently push forward until breakthroughs are achieved. As the project leader, Fu Xiaofan undoubtedly bears immense pressure. Faced with these daunting obstacles, she sets the example by working tirelessly—often staying late into the night to diagnose problems and rigorously test potential solutions.

Due to the relentless high-pressure, high-intensity workload, everyone was physically and mentally exhausted. Noticing her team members' drained state, Fu Xiaofan immediately encouraged them: "The road ahead is fraught with countless challenges, but we have no way to retreat—only by giving our all can we possibly achieve success. I believe that every hardship we face today will one day become a cherished story shared at tomorrow's celebration." Inspired by her words, the team rallied once more, rekindling their determination and diving back into the R&D work with renewed energy and enthusiasm. As a result of their relentless efforts—days and nights of intense collaboration—they finally cracked every remaining challenge, successfully resolving all issues and earning full approval from the client.
